How to Set Up Visual Loops for Worship Services
Visual loops — also called motion backgrounds or ambient loops — are one of the most effective ways to create atmosphere in your worship space before the service starts, during offering, or at communion. This guide shows you how to set them up in ProPresenter and EasyWorship.
What Is a Visual Loop?
A visual loop is a short video clip (typically 10–60 seconds) that plays continuously and seamlessly. Unlike lyric videos, loops don't have text — they're purely atmospheric. Common uses:
- Pre-service countdown or ambient background
- Offering and giving moments
- Communion and reflection
- Post-service dismissal
Setting Up Visual Loops in ProPresenter 7
Step 1: Import your loop file Drag your MP4 loop file into the ProPresenter Media Bin (or use File > Import Media).
Step 2: Create a new presentation or use an existing one In your service order, create a slide where you want the loop to appear.
Step 3: Set the video as the slide background Click on the slide, then in the Slide Properties panel, click Background and select your loop video.
Step 4: Enable looping In the media properties, tick Loop. ProPresenter will seamlessly restart the clip when it reaches the end.
Step 5: Add to your service cue list Drag the slide into your Playlist at the correct position in your service order. You can trigger it manually or set it to auto-advance.
Setting Up Visual Loops in EasyWorship
Step 1: Import the video Go to Resources > Media and click Add. Browse to your loop file and import it.
Step 2: Add to a schedule item In your Schedule, right-click and select Add Media. Choose your loop from the Media library.
Step 3: Set loop behaviour In the media item properties, set Loop to enabled. EasyWorship will handle the seamless repeat automatically.
Step 4: Trigger during service Click the item in your schedule to go live. Use the Black or Logo button to cut away cleanly when transitioning to the next element.
Tips for Seamless Loops
- Choose loops with clean edit points. The best loops are designed so the last frame flows naturally into the first. All Talesoft Digital motion backgrounds are edited with this in mind.
- Match the mood to the moment. Soft, slow-moving loops work for communion; brighter, more energetic loops suit pre-service.
- Keep a library organised by mood. Create folders like
Calm,Energetic,Seasonalin your media bin so your team can find the right loop quickly on Sunday morning.
Recommended Loop Lengths
- Pre-service: 30–60 second loops (longer = less noticeable repeat)
- Offering/communion: 20–30 seconds is fine
- Countdown: use a countdown-specific video rather than a loop
